Handling Reviews About Pricing
Pricing complaints are the most common negative-review category in tree service, the same pattern that shows up in towing and other emergency-adjacent trades where the customer didn’t shop three quotes before calling. The fix starts before the job: a clear, written estimate that spells out exactly what’s included, removal, full debris haul-away, stump grinding if it’s separate, so nothing on the invoice comes as a surprise.
When a pricing complaint shows up anyway, resist the urge to get defensive. Acknowledge the number is real money, restate what it covered, and invite the conversation offline rather than litigating it in public.
Example response:
“Thanks for the feedback, [Name]. We know a removal like that oak is a real investment, and the estimate covered full debris removal, stump grinding, and a fully insured crew, not just the cut. Happy to walk through the line items if that would help, feel free to call us at [phone].”
