Electrician Local SEO
Hire the company that can explain how it will get your electrical business into the map results, show that it understands licensing, and let you own every account. Be wary of anyone who guarantees a ranking or publishes license details it has not checked.
Electrical searches range from urgent (“power out in half the house”) to planned (panel upgrades, EV charger installs, whole-home rewiring). Whitespark’s May 2025 study of 540 searches in Denver, Houston and Phoenix found a local map pack on 93% of local-intent searches, so for a search like “electrician near me” the map is what customers see first.
Trust matters more here than in most trades, because people let you into their home and work on something that can start a fire. Licensing, reviews and real photos of finished jobs carry unusual weight, and a good SEO partner builds the page around them.
How will you work on my Google Business Profile? A real answer covers categories, services, photos, hours and reviews. Our guide to electrician Business Profile categories shows what a good setup looks like.
Will panel upgrades, EV chargers and emergency repair each get a page? They attract different customers with different budgets, so one catch-all “electrical services” page covers none of them well.
How will you handle my license number? It should appear where customers look for it and match the state record exactly. Our guide to citations for electricians explains where license numbers belong.
Which cities will you build pages for, and what will be different on each one? Pages that only swap the city name are the doorway pattern in Google’s spam policies.
Who owns the accounts? You should own your Business Profile, website, analytics and any call tracking numbers, so you can leave without losing them.
How will you report results? Ask for calls, direction requests and booked jobs, not only rankings or impressions.
Do you work with Local Services Ads? Google’s own page lists electricians among the businesses that can use them, and they charge per lead. Ask how the October 2026 missed-call charge would affect you, and whether they would show your real number or a tracking number, which is covered in our post on Local Services Ads showing your real phone number.
How do you get reviews without breaking Google’s rules? Rewards, or asking only happy customers, are red flags. Our review request templates and electrician review guide show a safe way to ask.
What will happen in the first 90 days, and when should I expect movement? Local rankings take months, and our timeline guide explains what each month usually looks like.
Google’s guidance on working with an SEO says no one can guarantee a number one ranking and warns about unsolicited emails about your rankings and anyone who will not explain their plan.
Pricing depends on how competitive your area is and how much work your profile and website need. Our local SEO cost guide has ranges for Denver service businesses, so you can tell whether a quote is reasonable.
Electricians are licensed at the state level in Colorado. The state electrical board issues journeyman, master and residential wireman licenses and registers electrical contractors, and every license can be checked with the state’s license lookup. Cities check them too: Westminster, for one, only inspects electrical work when a state-licensed electrician or electrical contractor is on the permit, and verifies the license with the state. See our notes for Westminster, Arvada and Commerce City.
Whatever license number appears on your website and profile should match your records, and your business name, address and phone should match everywhere. See NAP consistency for why that matters.
